Cause:
The Allow Employees to Reopen Closed Approval Records box is not enabled in the approval workflow.
Resolution:
- In the Desktop app select the expense report or timesheet approval workflow being used in Settings > Workflow > Approval Workflows.
- On the General tab of the approval workflow check the box for Allow Employees to Reopen Closed Approval Records.
- Assign the employee(s) who will be given access to reopen approved records.
- Click Save.
- The employee who has access to Reopen the approved expense report or timesheet will need to reopen the expense report or timesheet in question by going to the Approvals menu on the record.
- Selecting Reopen. This will change the status of the record to Submitted and allow it to be edited.
- Once the record is back to Submitted status and if the Workflow State of the approval step is In Process or In Review, any approver for the first step of the approval workflow will be able to edit the record. Additionally, if the submitters are allowed to unsubmit their own expense report or timesheet (checkbox on General tab of the expense approval workflow = Employee to Unsubmit Their Own Employee Reports) then after the Unsubmit is selected, the record could be edited by the submitter.
