Summary:
Ajera Printing Reports & Invoices Small
Description:
Whenever users try to print something in Ajera, everything prints distorted or too small to read. What is causing this?

Cause:

This issue is likely caused by display scaling, also known as DPI, settings that are used on higher resolution monitors to make text readable. Unfortunately, these settings also cause issue with printing in Ajera and many other Windows based programs. This issue is common with newer machines and often happens after an upgrade.

Resolution:

Set the scaling to 100% on the workstation. How to do that is different in different operating systems, so speak to your IT or reference an online resource on how to change display scaling for your specific operating system.

Notes:
  • In Windows 7 users can type DPI into the Windows Start Menu Search function. Users should see an option that states Make Text Appear Larger or Smaller. In that menu, there should be three bubble options.
  • In Windows 10, right Clicking on the Desktop and selecting Display will give users access to the scaling slider.
  • This option will change the way windows appears and can make things hard to read on higher resolution monitors. That may require users to change the setting for printing, and then back for normal operation.

Workaround:

If it is not an option to change the scaling on the workstation.

Option 1:
  1. Save the invoice/report to PDF.
  2. Then print from Adobe.
Option 2:

Modify the scaling setting in the Printer Properties or Printing Preferences.

Note: The option to modify the printer scaling may not be offered on all printers.
  • In the Print window, select the appropriate physical printer.
  • Click Properties (when printing a client invoice) or Preferences when printing a report.
  • Look at the tabs offered to see if there is a scaling option.
    • May be on Basic Settings tab, select Manual Scaling and enter in 125%.
    • May be on Effects tab, under Resizing Options, click % of actual size and enter 125.
    • If either of the tabs is not available, Option 2 is not doable in the printer.
  • Print a client invoice or report and modify the scaling % as desired, until the printout is the best size.
    • The printer scaling option may need to be set each time Print is selected, depending on the printer's operations.
