Summary:
Is it possible to move labor from one project to another when the labor is already billed out?
Description:
Resolution:
The solution will depend on if the invoice is correct or needs to be reissued and resent to the client.
If the invoice is incorrect and needs to be reissued, use the following steps:
  1. Go to Billing > Interactive Billing
  2. Select the project.
  3. Go to Tools > Invoices on file,
  4. Select the invoice
  5. Click the Void button.
  6. Create a new transaction file for the voided invoice.
  7. Go to Transaction Center > Transaction Entry > Invoices
  8. Post the voided invoice file.
  9. Go to Billing > Interactive Billing
  10. On the Labor tab, transfer the labor to the correct project/phase/task.
  11. In Interactive Billing, Accept the corrected invoice.
  12. Go to Transaction Center > Transaction Entry > Invoices
  13. Post the new invoice.
  14. Send the new invoice to the client.
If the invoice does not need to be reissued, use the following steps:
  1. Go to Transaction Center > Transaction Entry > Timesheet.
  2. On the first line, enter a positive number of hours for the project being transferred.
  3. On the second line, enter a negative number of hours for the project you are transferring from.
Note: This will bring the negative and positive hours back into the billing module to be billed.
If the hours do not need to be billed out:
  • The transferred hours can be set to a billing status of Deleted or Write-off to prevent the hours from being billed again.
If the hours will need to be billed:
  • Then the negative hours will flow to the incorrect project and the positive hours will flow the corrected project and can be billed accordingly.
