Client Receipts - Void vs NSF
KB Article #:

Summary:
Client Receipts - Void vs NSF
Description:

In Manage Client Receipts, what is the difference between voiding and NSFing a receipt?

Resolution:

  • When you Void a receipt, the deposit amount is removed from the bank register (if the receipt has been deposited) and the receipt is deleted. You cannot Void a receipt if the associated Deposit has been cleared and reconciled in the bank register. Un-reconcile the deposit to open the Void option.
  • When you NSF a receipt, the original Deposit will remain, and a Negative deposit will be created on the NSF date. The client receipt is still voided.
