Summary:
Rebuild Global Settings - when to run this process
Description:
Under what circumstances does Rebuild Global Settings need to be run?

Resolution:

Rebuild Global Settings is needed when any of the following is changed:

  1. Metadata changes (via a script that Deltek may provide for a fix or other update)
  2. System Settings or System Property values (i.e. Change in  Configuration utility)
  3. Database updates, done specifically via backend SQL scripts and not through the Costpoint UI

Note:

  • You do not need to run Rebuild Global Settings if Weblogic has been restarted after any of the above changes, as it will start with fresh cache.
  • Not running Rebuild Global Settings after changing metadata, system settings, or database updates could result in critical system errors due to a mismatch of the backend code and the UI or invalid data in the UI.
  • It is safe to run Rebuild Global Settings when users are working in Costpoint - all it does is clear cache on the Weblogic server.
