Summary:
Unbilled Analysis Report
Description:
What is the difference between the Unbilled Amount and Unbilled Amount Per General Ledger on the Unbilled Analysis Report?

Resolution:

On the Unbilled Analysis Summary report there are two Unbilled Amounts:

  1. The one titled Unbilled Amount is derived through the Inception-To-Date Revenue (ITD) minus Inception-To-Date Billing Calculation.
  2. The Unbilled and Unbilled Per General Ledger amounts, in theory, should be the same; but there may be circumstances where they may not agree.
  • Variances could result if the revenue and billing history files are not initialized with the correct amounts, or if a journal entry is made to either the revenue or billed Accounts Receivable accounts which may not be reflected in the Revenue or Billing postings.
  • A variance could also result if you select a Rate Type for the report which is different from your posting method.

Important Note:

  • You should investigate any discrepancies so that you feel comfortable if there is a variance.
  • In the Special Topics of the Accounts Receivable\Billing Manual, there is a detailed document on how to reconcile the unbilled receivable report.
